GDEV Inc. (NASDAQ: GDEV), a leading international gaming and entertainment company, announces the launch of Shortly, a new AI-powered entertainment platform developed by its portfolio studio, GameGears.
Shortly is an innovative content platform that uses artificial intelligence to create and stream next-generation buzz-worthy vertical mini-series and short videos — a format that continues to dominate modern content trends. The platform offers interactive, non-linear storylines, where viewers make choices that directly shape the narrative. A layer of gamification, including karma points and achievements, enhances immersion and turns watching into an active, game-like experience.
The website of the platform with the showcase is already on-air (https://shortly.show), with the first content going live in July 2025. More details about the Shortly’s features and roadmap will follow in the coming months.
“Shortly is a completely new project. Just imagine — all the content on the platform is generated using AI, has a real cinematic feel and as a user, you can interact with it, bringing a unique new layer of gamification to the videos you watch!” said Alexander Vaschenko, Founder and CEO of Game Gears Studio (owns Shortly).
Game Gears, creators of Aliens vs Zombies: Invasion, actively uses AI to accelerate production, optimize game mechanics, and improve creativity. With AI, the studio sped up the overall game development by four times.
Andrey Fadeev, CEO of GDEV, spoke about the importance of the new platform: “The launch of Shortly by our GameGears studio is a major step for GDEV as we expand beyond gaming into AI-driven entertainment. This project is an important move for our company as we grow as a technology-focused holding.”
GameGears’ success in AI-driven entertainment comes from a team of passionate innovators who love exploring the possibilities of generative AI. Many of them experiment, create, and bring new ideas to life in their free time as well, and their dedication is getting noticed. Steampunk Ironman placed 4th at the AI Festival, while their zombie short film, Mistake, won the Rendering and VFX category at the AI Filmmaking Initiative Project Odyssey.
